Job summary

First Search Inc. in Beachwood is seeking a Senior Auditor to join our hybrid team. The role focuses on leading audits, mentoring staff, and delivering compliant financial statements under GAAP or OCBOA.

You will plan engagements, advise on internal controls, and communicate clearly with clients to ensure smooth, minimally disruptive engagements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting with 3–4 years in public accounting, CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• 3-4 years of progressive experience in public accounting.
• CPA certification or active candidacy is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including CCH Engagement, Creative Solutions Fixed Assets, PPC Checkpoint Tools, and QuickBooks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute diverse accounting and auditing assignments with minimal supervision.
• Guide and mentor staff accountants, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to professional standards.
• Prepare comprehensive workpapers and financial statements in compliance with GAAP or OCBOA.
• Actively participate in the planning and scheduling of client engagements, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
• Provide insightful recommendations for improving client internal controls and operational procedures.
• Communicate effectively with clients to facilitate seamless and minimally disruptive engagements.
