Job summary

Placer County seeks an experienced Auditor–Appraiser to lead audits and valuations for property tax assessments. You will supervise staff, review complex audits, and resolve issues with property owners in a dedicated public service role.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with accounting coursework, a valid CA driver’s license, and potential certification by the State Board of Equalization. Work location includes Auburn and Roseville areas with permanent, full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Experience auditing and appraising similar to Associate Auditor–Appraiser.
• Bachelor’s degree with 18 accounting units; CA requirements as stated.
• Appraiser certificate may be required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and review audits of business records for property tax assessments.
• Analyze annual statements, compare with prior year, and update records.
• Respond to complex inquiries from taxpayers and explain assessment procedures.
• Enforce policies, manage staff, and coordinate audit timelines.
