Responsibilities

• Prepares appeal packages for properties under assessment appeal; testifies before the Assessment Appeals Board.
• Acts as lead worker, providing technical expertise and training oversight for junior staff.
• Appraises complex real property to establish values for tax assessments and recommends changes in valuation.
• Estimates property value by conducting site inspections and using standard valuation methods.
• Gathers and analyzes information from diverse sources to maintain current appraisal data.
• Interacts with the public and other city staff to explain appraisal and assessment procedures.
