Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of the Auditor General (DAG), seeks a motivated Auditor 4 to supervise county audits and ensure proper assessment and remittance of fines, costs, taxes, and surcharges. Telework may be available to eligible Pennsylvania residents.

Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and have relevant auditing experience, with preferred certifications. This position emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and adherence to auditing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, computer science, data analytics, finance, economics, information technology, math, or a closely related field.
• One year of experience as an Auditor 3, Liquor Store Examiner 3, or a Management Trainee; or four years of accounting/auditing experience including supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the work of County audits and ensure proper assessment, collection, receipting and remittance of fines, costs, fees, taxes, restitution and surcharges.
• Mentor and provide on-the-job training to audit staff and build teamwork.
• Perform legal research, record analysis, data management, and program decisions within the audit program.
• Work within the established audit program to make non-policy decisions and ensure compliance.
