Job summary

Truist is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to lead risk-based internal audit assurance and advisory services. You will develop expertise in financial services, manage complex engagements, and guide teams in executing high-quality audits aligned with risk appetite.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with business partners, and help advance Truist’s audit capabilities while staying current on industry trends and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Eight to ten years of audit experience, preferably as an Audit Project Leader.
• Advanced knowledge of audit concepts and banking/financial services.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent risk management understanding and process concepts.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engagement Manager for large, complex audit projects, leading planning, scoping, and test plan development.
• Set quality expectations based on Truist standards and review process documentation for effectiveness.
• Develop audit reports aligned with the risk appetite framework and present to stakeholders.
• Advise on complex assignments with strong subject matter expertise and regulatory knowledge.
• Leverage risk knowledge to assess audit findings, exposures, and materiality.
• Provide leadership and mentoring, delivering constructive feedback.
• Build relationships with lines of business and assess risk profiles for coverage.
• Manage timely delivery of audits, projects, and special assignments.
• Stay current on auditing trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Support annual planning and risk assessment with audit leadership.
