Job summary

Abacus is seeking a Senior Manager, Audit to lead multiple engagements from planning to issuance, ensuring quality and client satisfaction. This role demands strong technical accounting knowledge, staff development, and effective relationship management with clients and teams.

The position is based in the Fayetteville, AR area with travel within the service region. A CPA license and 7+ years of public accounting experience are required, along with a track record of engagement leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of audit experience in public accounting or equivalent assurance experience.
• Prior experience leading engagements and supervising teams.
• CPA license required.
• Industry experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to practice growth, recruiting, or training initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple audit engagements concurrently from planning through issuance.
• Provide technical leadership on complex accounting and auditing matters; oversee engagement quality and firm methodology.
• Manage and coach engagement teams with direction, review, and development; provide timely feedback.
• Own client relationships at the engagement level, manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability; coordinate billing and realization discussions.
• Contribute to practice development through proposals, thought leadership, recruiting, and process improvements.
• Stay current on auditing standards and regulatory changes; implement best practices across the Audit practice.
