Job summary

Durham County Government in North Carolina is seeking an Audit Manager to serve as the operational head of the Internal Audit Department. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, information systems, or a closely related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible audit experience, including four (4) years of supervisory experience.
• Requires knowledge of Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and internal controls.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage, and oversee multiple audit engagements from planning through reporting.
• Direct financial, operational, compliance, performance, and IT audits in accordance with GAGAS.
• Review engagements for quality and compliance with departmental standards.
• Mentor, train, and develop audit staff; assist with recruitment and performance management.
