• 8+ years of internal audit, operational risk, or consulting experience within insurance, preferably Commercial P&C.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations including underwriting, claims, and policy lifecycle.
• Proven experience leading audits or projects focused on operational effectiveness and business processes.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business units.
• Experience with SOX or regulatory frameworks is a plus but not the primary focus.

JCW is partnering with a leading international insurance firm to hire a Senior Audit Manager for their expanding U.S. Internal Audit team in the Greater Chicago area. This is a high-impact role within a well-established global organization, offering the opportunity to drive meaningful improvements across core business functions, particularly withinCommercial Property & Casualty (P&C) operations.

This position provides strong visibility to senior leadership and global stakeholders, with a focus on delivering operational insights, enhancing business processes, and strengthening risk management across underwriting, claims, and broader insurance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute operational and risk-based audits across Commercial P&C business lines, including underwriting, claims, and distribution.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of key business processes, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, controls, and risk mitigation.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve operational workflows, decision-making, and governance frameworks.
• Manage audit engagements end-to-end, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders to act as a strategic partner and advisor on operational risk and process improvement.
• Stay informed on emerging risks and industry trends impacting Commercial P&C insurance.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing audit function.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of internal audit, operational risk, or consulting experience within insurance—preferably Commercial P&C.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and policy lifecycle processes.
• Proven experience leading audits or projects with a focus on operational effectiveness and business processes.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business and functional teams.
• Experience with SOX or regulatory frameworks is a plus, but not the primary focus of the role.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
