Job summary

Hirewell's public accounting practice is seeking Senior Audit Associates in Chicago to work closely with A&A Managers and firm leadership, serving clients and contributing to growth with high-visibility access to leadership.

You will be a key member of engagement teams, organizing and managing audits and related projects, delivering quality work on time while supporting continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA eligible with 3+ years in public accounting.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting required; Master's preferred.
  • CPA eligibility required; CPA preferred.
  • 3+ busy seasons with audit/assurance, at Senior Associate or Supervisor level.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing/distribution, technology, or M&A preferred.
  • Analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on accounting/assurance strategies.
  • Ability to understand both the big picture and the details.
  • Strong ethical judgment and professional integrity.
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion.
  • Strong MS Office skills.

Job description

A growing public accounting and advisory firm is adding Senior Audit Associates to its team. In this role, you will work side-by-side with A&A Managers and firm leadership to serve clients and help build the business, having a direct impact on the firm's continued success.

You will also be a critical member of engagement teams, utilizing your expertise to organize and manage client engagements and projects, including the completion of engagement tasks and project components.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or CPA eligible, with at least three years of experience in public accounting.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's or advanced degree preferred
  • CPA eligibility required; CPA preferred
  • 3+ busy seasons providing audit and assurance services, with at least one busy season at the Senior Associate or Supervisor level
  • Experience within construction, manufacturing/distribution, technology, and/or business combinations (M&A) preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on applicable accounting and assurance strategies
  • Ability to understand both the "big picture" and the details
  • Strong ethical judgment and professional integrity
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely project completion
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Office Suite skills
