Job summary

Bose Corporation seeks a Senior Audio Systems Engineer to shape the next generation of audio experiences for consumer technology. You will work across acoustics, digital signal processing, and system architectures to advance ideas from research to product partnerships.

You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and business leaders to define architectures, develop prototypes, and evaluate performance, while influencing cross‑functional teams and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in audio system development, acoustical engineering, DSP, or consumer audio.
• Strong foundation in DSP, acoustics, psychoacoustics, transducer fundamentals.
• Experience defining audio-system architectures balancing acoustics, signal processing, transducers, electronics, software, and mechanical constraints.
• Hands-on experience designing, integrating, measuring, tuning, and troubleshooting high-performance audio systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or equivalent for measurement, data analysis, signal processing, or algorithm development.
• Strong critical-listening skills and ability to connect perceptual observations with objective system behavior.
• Experience making technical decisions when requirements or architectures are not fully defined.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to engineering specialists and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work across disciplines and collaborate with researchers, engineers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Explore consumer needs, use cases, and experience opportunities, translating these insights into concepts, requirements, experiments, and evaluation plans.
• Define reusable audio-system architectures and integration approaches across products, form factors, and partner applications.
• Design, tune, and evaluate prototypes across form factors including headphones, wearables, portable speakers, and embedded devices.
• Develop and evaluate signal-processing approaches to improve audio performance.
• Conduct acoustic and electroacoustic measurements, using perceptual evaluation to guide improvements.
• Collaborate with DSP, controls, acoustics, electrical, mechanical, and software teams to optimize system performance.
• Define and evaluate requirements for loudspeakers, microphones, and related acoustic structures.
• Identify system-level tradeoffs and risks, guiding technical decisions through experimentation.
• Present concepts and results through peer reviews, design reviews, and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams and external collaborations.
