Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced attorney to provide legal counsel to the Global Payments Solutions (GPS) business on regulatory and commercial matters, including payments, merchant services, and treasury solutions. You will review and negotiate documents, interpret laws, and guide internal partners.

The role leads outside counsel, collaborates with compliance/risk, and advises on digital assets and payment networks.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of law firm/internal counsel experience in payments/financial services.
• Strong organizational, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication across all levels including leadership.
• Ability to manage high volume work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork with lawyers, clients and risk partners.
• Ability to balance risk/reward and act as a strategic partner to clients.
• Active bar membership in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legal issues and implications for GPS products, services and regulatory matters.
• Provide clear, concise, business-informed legal advice to leadership.
• Interpret rulings, laws, and regulations from a compliance standpoint.
• Support cash management/treasury services and related payment solutions.
• Direct outside counsel and coordinate with paralegals and peers.
• Advise on domestic/international payment systems and networks; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, audit and business stakeholders to mitigate risks.
• Guide on digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain, and tokenized deposits.
