Job summary

Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of statutory, regulatory, case, and common law applicable to employment security law.
  • Knowledge of judicial and administrative procedures before courts and quasi-judicial bodies.
  • Experience in civil or criminal litigation, including trial and appellate matters.
  • Experience researching, interpreting and applying statutes, regulations, and case law to complex issues.
  • Ability to analyze facts and communicate legal conclusions clearly in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze merits of a case, develop strategy, research points of law for filings and arguments, and lead litigation before federal, state, and administrative systems.
  • Negotiate settlements and prepare opinions on agency rules, operations, and inquiries from the public with Chief Counsel approval.
