An established industry player is seeking a senior attorney to provide expert legal counsel on labor and employment issues. This role involves close collaboration with HR and management to navigate complex legal matters, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. The successful candidate will lead investigations, draft contracts, and advise on various legal aspects, including dispute resolution. Our senior attorney position provides advice and counsel on a variety of matters, including close consultation with the HR team on labor and employment issues.
Employment related legal questions, associate relations matters (including investigations and dispute resolution), Fair Labor Standards Act classifications, third-party services contracts, and various aspects of compliance with federal, state, or local employment laws.
Advising management and HR on pre-employment and post-employment legal matters
Advising management and HR on legal aspects of associate relations matters
Leading the investigation and resolution of associate relations complaints
Drafting and negotiating various third-party service contracts
Advising on some aspects of client contract negotiation
Advising on various employment-related compliance matters, including responses to regulators
Dispute resolution, litigation management, and document production
Juris Doctorate (JD)
License in good standing to practice law
5+ years of related work experience
Tenacity for getting things accomplished, with the appropriate level and sense of urgency
Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex issues for review by business leaders
5+ years experience as an attorney, including labor and employment matters
Experience with OFCCP compliance
Experience with legal matters outside the United States
