Job summary

Cook County Health is seeking an Attending Physician of Advanced Complex Endoscopy at John H. Stroger Hospital to lead high-complex GI procedures including EUS, ERCP, EMR, ESD, and POEM under the Gastroenterology division.

The role emphasizes patient care, supervision of fellows, and participation in clinic and consultation services, with active involvement in training residents and medical students. Candidates must have an MD/DO, IL license, completion of GI fellowship, advanced endoscopy

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Gastroenterology.
• ACGME GI Fellowship completion or equivalent.
• Advanced GI endoscopy training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and consults for GI in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Perform and supervise advanced GI endoscopic procedures (EUS, ERCP, EMR, ESD, POEM).
• Collaborate with Anesthesiology on new endoscopy protocols.
• Provide on-call support for GI division.
• Contribute to curricula and training for GI fellows, residents, and students.
