Job description

Brookfield is a global asset manager focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy & transition, private equity, credit, and insurance solutions (the “Business Groups”) with over $925 billion of assets under management.

The Global Client Group (“GCG”) provides solutions for investors across the Brookfield Asset Management organization. The GCG also manages institutional relationships and raises capital for Brookfield and its affiliated managers’ various private funds.

The Strategic Partnerships Team is a newly established team focused on leading our efforts with our equity-oriented affiliated managers (the “Strategic Partners”).

About Strategic Partnerships

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a team that will spearhead our efforts with asset managers that Brookfield looks to partner with (“Affiliated Managers” or “Strategic Partners”). This team will pave the way for Brookfield to enter and grow into new and different asset classes. The team works very closely with Strategic Partners to help launch funds and raise capital for their business while leveraging the broader Brookfield GCG infrastructure across all functional areas. Members of the team will have to understand different strategies, have deep knowledge about fundraising, be adept at building relationships, and have both a very strategic and hands-on approach.

While each Strategic Partner will be unique and therefore have different needs, the role will include many of the tasks below, in a very collaborative way with the rest of GCG.

About the role

This role is for a strategic thinker who can act with agility and problem-solve constantly to support fundraising campaigns for our Strategic Partners. It requires seamless communication between the Strategic Partner and Brookfield’s CRMs and the broader Global Client Group, to drive the fundraising process from inception to closing. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the fundraising process, be quick to learn, and build working knowledge in new sectors/strategies.

Key responsibilities include :
  • Coordinating with our Strategic Partner’s investment, operations, IR, and/or senior management teams to produce key marketing messages that translate through verbal and written communications, resonating with prospective investors.
  • Helping research target prospects to prepare the investment team and ensure they are well organized for fundraising.
  • Coordinating activities throughout the fundraise process with all relevant stakeholders, especially with the rest of GCG to execute fundraising plans effectively.
  • Maintaining market intelligence, including understanding the competitive landscape for the Partner’s fund offerings.
  • Supporting the development of marketing materials such as offering memorandums, investor presentations, fact sheets, post-fundraise materials, and other documents related to fundraises.
  • Crafting and coordinating responses to investor information requests, including RFPs and due diligence questionnaires.
  • Coordinating road shows, conferences, and investor meetings.
  • Collaborating closely with legal, compliance, operations, and finance teams to advance fundraising objectives.

The candidate should have proven experience managing a capital raising process and interacting credibly with senior management. Knowledge of Private Equity or related strategies, especially in the North American market, is highly desirable.

They should be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively, and working under tight deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or a relevant discipline; CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in asset management, with private equity or other asset classes.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective working both independently and in teams, with good communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including marketing material and presentations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to professional development.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across all management levels.
