Senior Associate – Valuation – Corporate Finance

BRG Transaction and Valuation Opinions provides valuation services in support of: i) transaction opinions (fairness and solvency), ii) portfolio valuation, iii) tax and financial reporting, iv) litigation, and v) special situations such as restructuring and bankruptcy. Clients include leading hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, limited partners, lenders, corporations, and independent directors.

Position Overview

The role requires proven management skills, including recruiting, training and mentoring junior staff, strong financial modeling expertise, and the ability to collaborate with industry specialists. The Associate works with senior consulting professionals on a broad range of valuation engagements and receives on‑the‑job and external training opportunities within a career path focused on knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical and projected financial information.
• Develop detailed financial models to value companies and investments.
• Direct junior staff in model development and valuation deliverables.
• Efficiently aggregate and organize large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
• Leverage financial and market data platforms such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
• Present thorough valuation analyses to clients in alignment with project scope.
• Apply Option Pricing Models (Black‑Scholes) and/or MonteCarlo simulation where preferred.
• Consistently meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
• Maintain an organized, methodical, and professional demeanor.
• Take ownership of work products, including analyses developed by junior staff.
• Communicate project status and results internally and externally.
• Effectively manage deadlines for tasks undertaken by junior staff.
• Demonstrate strong report‑writing skills.
• Participate in a team environment and collaborate toward team goals.
• Seek opportunities for practice development projects and personal leadership skill development.
• Actively participate in business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.
• Expand network with clients to become a trusted advisor.

Qualifications

• Born’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Two to four years of prior valuation work experience, preferably with a national accounting or valuation firm.
• Experience as a key team member leading the development and completion of client‑ready valuation deliverables.
• Significant progress toward an ASA or similar designation is favorable.
• Must be able to verify legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
