Job summary

Atlas Search, a New York accounting and financial advisory firm, seeks a Senior Associate to run client projects for start-ups and founder-led companies across industries. You will oversee month-end closes, build financial models, and help clients move from cash to accrual accounting.

You will lead project teams delivering budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and dashboards, assess controls, conduct technical accounting research, and coach associates. CPA preferred; office-based most weeks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years accounting or public audit experience.
• Excellent command of Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Able to work from the office most of the week.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end close and reporting work for outsourced accounting clients.
• Build financial models, including cash flow projections and profitability by business segment.
• Help clients move from cash to accrual accounting, get ready for audits, and design or review their close process.
• Lead project teams delivering budgets, forecasts, KPIs, variance analysis and dashboards.
• Assess controls and recommend improvements to finance and accounting processes.
• Research technical accounting questions and put the answers into practice.
• Build working relationships with company owners and managers, and find ways to raise the value of their businesses.
• Coach and develop associates on your engagements.
