Job summary

Ares Management LLC seeks a Senior Associate for the Registered Secondaries Accounting team to lead NAV processes and regulatory reporting for registered investment funds. You will review administrator deliverables, coordinate closes, and strengthen controls as the platform grows.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years in fund or investment accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and experience with fund reporting systems.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, private equity accounting, registered funds or public accounting.
• Experience with private equity or other alternative investment products strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP investment company accounting and periodic fund reporting preferred.
• Public accounting experience and CPA progress is a plus.
• Experience with Advent Geneva, eFront, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, OneStream or similar systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly NAV process with fund administrator packages, reconciliations, and income/expense activity.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly closes and prepare or review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review accounting for secondary investments and related structures, including capital calls and distributions.
• Oversee daily cash activities, invoice coding and payment processing, coordinating with teams to resolve differences.
• Review fund financial statements, capital accounts and transaction notices for accuracy.
• Prepare and review regulatory reporting (N-PORT, N-CSR, N-CSRS) and other SEC/compliance filings.
• Review operating budgets, accruals and variances with stakeholders.
• Provide oversight and development of junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Identify process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accuracy and scalability.
