Job summary

Teneo seeks a Senior Associate in People Advisory to drive engagement delivery with strategic insight. You will structure workstreams, manage teams, and deliver client-ready outputs while maintaining mid/senior client relationships.

Responsibilities include leading workstreams end-to-end, developing insights through research and benchmarking, and supporting business development. The role is based in New York with a strong office presence and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years' relevant work experience, ideally within a consulting environment.
• Interest in people consulting (culture, org design, leadership alignment, talent/skills, change).
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality strategic output.
• Strong facilitation and client-handling skills; comfortable with mid/senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated people leadership: delegation, coaching, and quality assurance.
• Excellent judgment under pressure; able to prioritize and drive progress amid ambiguity.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to recognize client needs and broader business context.
• High discretion and professionalism when working with sensitive client topics.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams or small engagements end-to-end, translating client needs into structured approaches and high-quality delivery.
• Develop client insights via research, benchmarking, stakeholder input, and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
• Own major portions of client output—research, benchmarking, decks, and proposals—clear and executive-ready.
• Act as day-to-day liaison with client teams, manage stakeholder needs with empathy and escalate risks.
• Present conclusions and recommendations in client meetings and workshops, handling questions effectively.
• Plan team work (workplans, milestones) aligning with senior leadership direction.
• Lead and develop juniors through delegation, coaching, and quality assurance.
• Support business development and practice growth: proposals, IP contributions, pipeline, cross-team coordination.
