Job summary

Teneo is seeking a Senior Associate for People Advisory in New York. You will drive engagement delivery, structure workstreams, manage teams, and deliver client-ready outputs while maintaining senior client relationships.

You will lead workstreams, develop insights, and own major portions of client materials, ensuring clear, executive-ready deliverables with minimal iteration. A strong consulting background and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a consulting environment.
• Interest in people consulting (culture, org design, leadership alignment, talent/skills, change).
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality strategic output.
• Strong facilitation and client-handling skills; comfortable with mid/senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated people leadership: delegation, coaching, QA.
• Excellent judgment under pressure; able to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong commercial judgment and awareness of client needs and business context.
• High discretion and professionalism with sensitive topics.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined workstreams or smaller engagements end-to-end, translating ambiguous client needs into structured approaches and actionable recommendations.
• Develop and test client-relevant insights through research, benchmarking, stakeholder input, and analysis.
• Own major portions of client-ready output, including research, benchmarking, deck development, and proposal materials.
• Serve as the day-to-day liaison with client teams, managing stakeholder needs with empathy and professionalism.
• Present conclusions and recommendations in client meetings and workshops, handling questions effectively.
• Plan work for the team with workplans and milestones, translating leadership direction.
• Lead and develop junior team members through delegation, coaching, and QA; contribute to development planning.
• Support business development and practice growth, including proposal development and pipeline support.
