Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate external relations, office operations, educational programming, advocacy, and projects for the New England regional office.
  • Manage Leaders for Tomorrow program recruitment, logistics, and alumni engagement.
  • Support budgeting, vendor management, and office procurement; oversee facilities and IT coordination.
  • Provide communications support and track KPIs; liaison with donors, volunteers, and leaders.
  • Maintain and document regional projects in Raiser's Edge and related systems.
  • Support staff with calendar management, meeting logistics, and general admin tasks.
  • Contribute to annual strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives.

AJC's Regional Offices connect the local communities with AJC’s global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. We maintain the agency's nationwide presence by attracting leaders and donors to AJC, enhancing the organization’s influence with key local, national, and international decision makers and stakeholders, implementing advocacy initiatives at the state and local level, and establishing and nurturing community relationships.

Your Impact

The Senior Associate, Operations and Education Development will be a key team member in our AJC New England region, providing essential operational and administrative support for our regional office.

The Senior Associate for AJC New England will be responsible for coordinating functions and providing support for: external relations, office operations, educational programming, advocacy, and other projects. The successful candidate must be highly organized, energetic, and sufficiently flexible to handle multiple assignments in a fast-moving dynamic environment.

Your Role

The Senior Associate will have broad responsibilities that require a capacity to handle multiple projects and actively interact with all members of the staff team. These include: serving as the managing liaison for the Leaders for Tomorrow program; providing communications and program support; managing financial accounting; performing all roles relevant to office management that include ordering supplies, coordinating office security, meeting management, and other vital functions. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be an avid learner, and play an active part in advancing the office’s vital work.

Education Development (Dotted Line Report to Alexander Assistant Director) 33%

  • Manage the recruitment process and logistics for Leaders for Tomorrow (LFT) program
  • Co-facilitate AJC New England’s LFT program
  • Steward and Engage LFT alumni, connecting them to relevant AJC programs and resources, and inviting them to regional programming, as appropriate
  • Organize LFT parents' events to engage them in AJC’s work
  • Manage the LFT Committee in collaboration with Alexander Assistant Director
  • Assist with Campus or ACCESS programs as needed.

Programs and External Relations (33%)

  • Serve as a deputy to the Assistant Regional Director, supporting regional outreach and programmatic planning including:
  • Planning and contracting venues, catering, security, and other event logistics;
  • Maintaining project and office budgets;
  • Lead the logistical planning and engagement for Board and Global Advocacy Circle meetings, as well as relevant committees, task forces, and working groups;
  • Support the tracking of KPIs and quantifiable measurements of success;
  • Liaise with lay leaders, donors, and volunteers;
  • Track and document constituents, engagement, and attributes for all non-fundraising events and non-leadership pipeline programs in Raiser’s Edge.

Office Management (33%)

  • Handle all facility/office related issues (landlord, security, IT, supplies, etc.) and manage vendor relationships
  • Answer the main office phone and take messages, monitor, and maintain the office and community calendars, and keep inventory of supplies
  • Maintain correspondence, documentation files, including financial reports, relating to regional office projects and programs
  • Code and file expense reports related to office procurement and corporate purchasing cards monthly;
  • Provide administrative support for general staff, as circumstances may require
  • Step in, as needed, to support additional projects and advance office goals

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as needed to support overall office effectiveness
  • Participate in the development of the annual strategic plan
  • Provide communication support

Compensation

The salary for this position is $67,000 – 72,000 depending on relevant experience and location.
