Job summary

Charles River Associates seeks a Senior Associate to join our economics practice in the United States. You will work with senior consultants on research projects, develop models, and contribute to client deliverables such as expert reports and white papers.

This role emphasizes quantitative skills, programming in Stata/SAS/Python/R, collaboration with teams, and clear communication. Travel is minimal, and CRA offers strong growth opportunities through its development programs.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics with focus on quantitative research and recent graduation timeline.
• Strong ability to identify and conceptualize issues and design models.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and teamwork aptitude.
• Willingness to learn new programming languages and tools.
• Demonstrated initiative, leadership, and collaboration across teams.
• Solid understanding of economic, financial and accounting concepts and methods.
• Experience with Excel and statistical software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in a team-oriented environment alongside academics and regulators.
• Identify issues, design economic models, and manage the research process.
• Supervise and mentor junior analysts.
• Develop and present client deliverables including expert reports and white papers.
• Serve as a primary contact for attorneys and clients on practice-relevant issues.
• Program and run regression analyses using Stata, SAS, Python, or R.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of analyses and conclusions.
• Participate in practice-building activities such as training and recruiting.
