Job summary

AbbVie seeks a leader to head the laboratory operations at our Irvine plant, overseeing QC labs and a team of managers, supervisors and analysts. You will ensure regulatory compliance and drive budget-aligned performance across API, finished goods, and related operations.

You will sponsor advanced research activities, develop project plans, and liaise with regulators to avoid interruptions, while aligning with strategic business needs and timelines.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Science or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 8+ years; PhD preferred with 6+ years.
• Experience in technical lab operations with strong regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to manage budgets and personnel to meet business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Lab Managers, Supervisors and Analysts.
• Ensure conformance to FDA, EU and corporate regulations.
• Manage budget and resources to meet production objectives.
• Establish plans aligned with Development, Manufacturing and Customer needs.
• Plan and execute research projects supporting business needs.
• Prepare project protocols and final reports for product registration.
• Interact with external contacts to build positive relationships.
