Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Director of Equipment Engineering to lead packaging and device assembly equipment initiatives. You will drive capital projects, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration across global packaging networks to ensure compliant, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech/medical device with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience developing equipment standards across multiple sites.
• Strong background in packaging equipment and operational processes.
• Experience with design control to tech transfer for packaging facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support complex technical projects and equipment assessments in packaging/MDCP space.
• Manage global and site-packable capital and equipment projects; oversee transfers and launches.
• Serve as packaging and assembly equipment SME; provide troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Apply GMP, validation, qualification, root cause analysis, change control, and risk management.
• Collaborate with Serialization CoE to support serialization implementation and troubleshooting.
• Establish and maintain equipment specification standards across platforms.
