Job summary

Wagner College seeks a Senior Associate Director of Accessibility & Student Success to lead accessibility services, academic advising, and student support. You will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate accommodations, and advise faculty on accessibility best practices, while collaborating across campus to promote inclusive learning environments.

The role requires independent judgment and strong case management across complex student needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience in higher education, accessibility services, academic advising, student success, counseling, or related area.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities and administering accommodations.
• Working knowledge of accessibility requirements in higher education.
• Strong case-management, organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to exercise independent professional judgment and escalate when needed.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of Accessibility Services.
• Meet with students to determine accommodations and engage in interactive process.
• Review documentation and determine/accommodate decisions per policy.
• Manage a caseload of students requiring accessibility accommodations.
• Coordinate implementation of accommodations with students, faculty and offices.
• Coordinate academic and testing accommodations, including extended time and distractions-free environments.
• Serve as a resource to faculty on accommodations and accessibility.
• Collaborate with campus offices on broader student experience accommodations.
• Maintain confidential records of requests, documentation, and implementations.
• Assist in strengthening Accessibility Services policies, procedures, and communications.
• Monitor developments in disability access and accessibility in higher education.
• Provide education and training on accessibility processes and resources.
• Help ensure continuity of Accessibility Services during periods when leadership is unavailable.
• Maintain academic advising and student-success caseloads as needed.
• Provide individualized advising, coaching, and retention support.
• Assist students in understanding requirements, policies, registration, and planning.
• Participate in early-alert, intervention, retention, and success initiatives.
• Collaborate with multiple offices to coordinate interventions and referrals.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and special projects related to accessibility and student success.
