Job summary

Howden Re, a global reinsurance broker, seeks an Associate Director for the Catastrophe Analytics team. You will advise clients on catastrophe risk, interpret modeling outputs, and collaborate with top analytics professionals to deliver innovative solutions.

Candidates bring 4+ years in catastrophe modeling, proficiency with SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, ArcGIS, and experience with Touchstone or RMS RiskLink. Excellent communication and a degree in a quantitative field are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in catastrophe modeling and risk management.
• Proficient in data analysis, manipulation and visualization with SQL, Excel, R, Python, Power BI, ArcGIS.
• Experience with cat modeling software such as Verisk Touchstone or RMS RiskLink.
• Knowledge of property insurance and reinsurance; ARe designation is a plus.
• Legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Execute catastrophe modeling including data prep, portfolio analysis, postprocessing, and reporting.
• Respond to internal/external queries on exposure data, real-time events, and risk views.
• Explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and think strategically.
• Use proprietary software to design and manage cat reinsurance programs.
• Improve analytical processes for better client results.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and reinsurers.
