Job summary

James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, seeks an Associate Dean for Workforce and Professional Development to provide strategic leadership for SPCE's workforce initiatives and employer engagement.

Reporting to the Dean, you will shape educational offerings, build partnerships with industry and government, and oversee program innovation, growth, and external relations to advance workforce vitality in the Commonwealth and beyond.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent combined with substantial relevant experience in workforce development or continuing education.
• Demonstrated leadership in program development and partnerships.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to translate workforce needs into educational offerings and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SPCE's workforce development initiatives.
• Build relationships with employers, industry groups, and government agencies.
• Identify workforce trends and translate needs into programs and partnerships.
• Lead partnerships, contract negotiations, and cross-campus collaboration.
• Oversee development of certificates, microcredentials, and non-credit offerings.
• Provide supervision and budget oversight as needed.
• Support Madison Promise and learner success initiatives.
