Job summary

The University of Maryland School of Social Work is seeking an Associate Dean for Administration and Finance to lead and align budget, accounting, human resources, and facilities management with the School's mission.

Reporting to the Dean, this role partners with senior leaders to drive strategic planning, financial analysis, and compliance across the School. The position supports a hybrid work schedule and prioritizes diversity and inclusion in all operations.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in finance, business administration, public administration, accounting or a related field.
• Twelve years of progressive experience in department functions.
• Five years of management/leadership supervisory experience.
• Experience in academic health system or higher education preferred.
• Financial disclosure may be required.
• Exempt position per policy on Separation for Regular Exempt Employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop procedures and disciplines to maintain control in a decentralized environment.
• Interpret policies and ensure compliance by all units with audits and internal controls.
• Oversee all HR operations and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Oversee budgeting, accounting, procurement, risk management, and asset management.
• Provide timely financial information to support statutory compliance and decision making.
• Develop KPIs and School-wide financial analysis to support leadership decisions.
