Job summary

Forbright Bank in Chevy Chase, MD seeks a Senior Associate to review new transactions and manage an existing loan portfolio. You will work with private equity sponsors, prepare investment materials, and monitor credit risk across a growing portfolio.

The role requires strong financial analysis, Excel modeling, and familiarity with market data tools. A 4+ year background in finance or accounting is expected; hybrid work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance or accounting fields.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting, including financial statement analysis.
• Understanding of debt finance products and risk management across industries.
• Excel-based modeling skills.
• Familiarity with CapitalIQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg and other market data sources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings with sponsors and borrowers to understand a company.
• Prepare and review confidential investment materials and lender presentations.
• Perform third-party diligence (quality of earnings, market studies, operational diligence).
• Analyze financial statements and sponsor models to identify business trends.
• Assist in amendments, waivers and restructurings within the portfolio.
• Identify investment thesis drivers and mitigate risks.
• Conduct industry research on macro trends and competition.
• Create investment memorandums detailing opportunities.
• Review legal documents with counsel and document final terms.
• Monitor portfolio and participate in quarterly reviews and credit discussions.
• Ensure timely deliverables and manage credit files.
• Support BancAlliance activities and other duties as assigned.
