A well-established private investment firm is seeking a Private Credit Analyst or Associate to join its investment team in Baltimore. The firm focuses primarily on mezzanine debt and structured private credit investments, providing flexible capital solutions to lower-middle-market businesses.

This is an opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial investment team and gain meaningful exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and underwriting through execution and portfolio management.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals across a broad range of private credit transactions. The role will have a strong emphasis on financial analysis, credit underwriting, investment due diligence, and transaction execution, with the opportunity to develop significant responsibility over time.

The firm is open to candidates at either the Analyst or Associate level, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate new investment opportunities across the lower-middle market, with a primary focus on mezzanine debt and other private credit investments
• Perform detailed financial analysis, including historical performance, projections, cash flow analysis, leverage, and debt capacity
• Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate credit quality, downside protection, returns, and transaction structures
• Conduct comprehensive credit and investment underwriting, identifying key risks, mitigants, and sources of value
• Participate in due diligence processes, including review of financial statements, management presentations, industry dynamics, customer concentration, and other business fundamentals
• Assist with the preparation of investment committee materials, underwriting memoranda, and transaction presentations
• Support senior team members throughout transaction execution, including structuring, documentation, and closing
• Monitor existing portfolio investments and evaluate financial performance, covenant compliance, liquidity, and credit developments
• Conduct industry and company research to assess market positioning, competitive dynamics, and potential risks
• Work directly with senior investment professionals and company management teams throughout the investment process
• Contribute to portfolio reviews, valuations, and ongoing investment analysis
