Job summary

Ares Management Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Associate for its Corporate Accounting team, focusing on operating expenses and monthly analyses. The role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and works across global teams to ensure accurate reporting of expenses and close processes.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of relevant experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel, BI tools, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience in public accounting and/or industry experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; CPA preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook; experience with BI and ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with external professional service firms and internal stakeholders to gather information and prepare accruals and analyses.
• Review journal entries and cash reconciliations prepared by third party cash reconciliation team.
• Perform monthly and quarterly analyses of operating expenses for Senior Management.
• Prepare departmental operating expense analyses and review with Department Heads.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Partner with auditors and internal groups to provide support and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with peers across locations to implement best practices and drive process improvements.
• Assist in ad-hoc requests and special projects.
