Job summary

Ares is seeking an experienced Associate Vice President to join the Corporate Accounting team. This role leads the function for a NYSE-listed company, overseeing operating expenses and ensuring SOX 404 compliance while driving process improvements.

You will work closely with the CAO and Global Controller, review entries and reconciliations, manage a global team, and coordinate with auditors and tax. Strong accounting background and CPA/CA are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting.
• Both public and private accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar capacity.
• Financial services industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting function for a NYSE listed public company and liaise with CAO and Controllers.
• Review journal entries, expense allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor SOX 404 control environment and assist external auditors.
• Provide analytics and ad hoc metrics to support decisions.
• Manage offshore and onshore resources across time zones.
• Lead process improvements and automate manual tasks.
