Senior Associate Cloud Engineer - Austin, TX (Hybrid) - 2 OPENINGS!

In this critical role, you will be part of a team responsible for building infrastructure-as-code pipelines, delivering self-service tooling, supporting internal product teams, and driving platform adoption. These roles are part of a deliberate strategy to elevate our cloud engineering function into a high-leverage, globally distributed capability that improves developer experience, accelerates delivery, and supports long-term scalability.


Role Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly available cloud environments using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Automate AWS tasks and cloud resource provisioning using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and SDKs.

  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment efficiency.

  • Deploy and maintain containerized workloads using AWS EKS, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS.

  • Ensure robust API management using AWS API Gateway.

  • Implement data replication, disaster recovery, and backup strategies using AWS Backup.

  • Lead incident resolution efforts related to cloud infrastructure and applications.

  • Monitor and optimize AWS performance using CloudWatch Log Insights and K9s for EKS troubleshooting.

  • Perform data recovery and restoration activities.

  • Troubleshoot AWS networking, including DNS, AD, and VPC configurations.

  • Manage configuration automation using Ansible.

  • Maintain AMI and container image builds with best practices.

  • Ensure cloud security by remediating OS & container vulnerabilities and enforcing IAM, SCP, KMS, and VPC security policies.

  • Oversee SSL certificate provisioning and management for cloud resources.

  • Work closely with application, security, and performance engineering teams to improve cloud infrastructure.

  • Participate in architecture and automation planning discussions.

  • Document cloud architectures, automation processes, and best practices.


Role Requirements



  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, math, data science, or similar field with 2 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

  • Experience working with AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, Load Balancers, CloudFront, Kafka, EMR, EKS, ECS, Route 53, SFTP, CloudWatch, ElastiCache).

  • Experience in writing Terraform & CloudFormation scripts.

  • Proficiency in Python or Node.js for cloud automation and scripting.

  • Experience in container platforms like AWS EKS/Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and API management using AWS API Gateway.

  • Strong understanding of container workloads, orchestration, and maintenance.



  • Experience in disaster recovery, data replication, and AWS Backup processes.

  • Strong troubleshooting experience for AWS service-related issues.

  • Hands-on expertise with CloudWatch Log Insights queries.

  • Experience in data recovery & restoration activities.

  • Strong knowledge of DNS, Active Directory (AD).



  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting EKS issues using K9s.

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management.



  • Experience in AMI & container image builds for secure, scalable cloud deployments.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker preferred).

  • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, frameworks, and best practices.



  • Experience in cloud security best practices, ensuring secure AWS resource provisioning.

  • Expertise in SSL certificate provisioning and management.

  • Strong understanding of AWS security policies (IAM, SCP, KMS, S3, VPC endpoints).

  • Experience in remediating OS and container image vulnerabilities.



  • Strong ability to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.

  • Development experience in Python or Node.js.

  • Proficiency in Bash scripting for cloud automation.



  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work independently and drive automation and optimization initiatives.

  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn and implement new cloud technologies.

Salary


The on-target earning range is $80,000 - $105,000 per year, which includes a base salary and variable target incentive (including short-term) that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidate's qualifications, skills and competencies.
