Job description

Your Impact

The Windows Engineering team at Goldman Sachs is responsible for the desktop, Windows server, and remote working platforms. The team architects and engineers Microsoft operating systems and enterprise products such as Windows 10/11, SCCM/MECM/Intune, Tanium, and third-party enterprise VDI solutions like Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, along with custom in-house systems management and software delivery platforms.

We are seeking Windows Cloud Systems Engineers with 3-7 years of experience to help build, manage, and support the firm’s growing Windows desktop, server, and configuration management services in the public cloud.

How will you fulfill your potential?

  1. Design, implement, and deploy VDI services and supporting systems management infrastructure (including configuration management, security patching, and application delivery) in Azure, primarily for Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
  2. Engineer and maintain process automation to configure and manage cloud-hosted VDI desktops at scale.
  3. Collaborate with a global team of platform engineers and project managers.

Skill / Experience

  1. Experience deploying, managing, and supporting at least one VDI environment in the public cloud (e.g., Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix DaaS, AWS Workspaces).
  2. Experience using Intune to configure, manage, and secure desktops in the public cloud.
  3. Proficiency in coding or scripting (e.g., PowerShell) within an SDLC environment (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
  4. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
  5. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot desktop and server OS issues (e.g., performance issues via telemetry from Intune Endpoint Analytics, Perfmon).
  6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with external vendors.
  7. Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience deploying IaaS and PaaS resources in Azure and/or AWS.
  2. Experience managing and patching cloud infrastructure using native services like Azure Update Manager or AWS Systems Manager.
  3. Experience automating configuration tasks in Intune using Graph APIs.
  4. Enterprise-level financial services experience is preferred.
