Job summary

District Management Group (DMGroup) seeks a Senior Associate for the Breakthrough Results Team, collaborating with school leaders to design data-driven improvement plans and ambitious SMART goals.

Based in Boston with some remote flexibility, you will analyze data, visualize progress weekly, coordinate coaches, and support client projects while strengthening DMGroup’s education reform initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably with data analysis or management consulting.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 public education landscape.
  • Robust qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Exceptional project and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft product suites, especially Excel, PPT, and G-Suite.
  • Ability to create impactful, information-filled presentations, memos, reports, data visualizations, and other collateral.
  • Client presentation and facilitation experience.
  • Strong communication and client relationship development skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program designs linking district goals to SMART targets.
  • Collect data, analyze, and create weekly/bi-weekly visualizations for teacher teams.
  • Coordinate with DMGroup Performance Coaches to match coaches to districts.
  • Create data-rich retrospectives after each performance cycle with a client.
  • Provide logistical support for Breakthrough Results projects.
  • Support scheduling between coaches and client teams.
  • Collaborate with internal staff to grow DMGroup programs, research, and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Senior Associate will play an integral role within the firm’s Breakthrough Results Team, working directly with leaders in K-12 public education and supporting teams of teachers and leaders in achieving extraordinary outcomes with their students using DMGroup’s Breakthrough Results Program model, rooted in the best practices of improvement science.

LOCATION

DMGroup’s headquarters are located in Boston, MA. This role will be based out of the Boston office with flexibility to work from home up to two days a week based on schedule and team needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Supports the development of robust program designs that link the district’s big strategic goals to concrete SMART goals, conducting historical analysis and benchmarking to inform the approach
  • Partners with the district to collect data, conduct analysis, and develop weekly/bi-weekly data visualizations that can support teacher teams in making adjustments to their practice on the path to their goals
  • Coordinates with DMGroup’s team of Performance Coaches, supporting the matching of coaches to district programs and ensuring that coaches have everything they need to actively coach district teacher teams to strong outcomes
  • Supports the development of a comprehensive, data-rich retrospective after each performance cycle with a client
  • Provides robust logistical support to Breakthrough Results projects, including supporting the planning and launch of each client project, supporting schedule coordination between DMGroup coaches and client teacher teams, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with internal staff to ensure the continued growth and effectiveness of DMGroup's programs, including our membership network and events, research and publications, software, and consulting
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have/be able to:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably with data analysis or management consulting
  • Knowledge of the K-12 public education landscape

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
