Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Florida Bar member in good standing.
• 5–7 years drafting estate planning documents and handling probate/trust administration from opening through closing.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and typing 50 WPM.

Responsibilities

• Case management and strategy for Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianships from initial consultation to final resolution.
• Draft, review, and file wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds; prepare petitions, inventories, accountings, and pleadings.
• Advise personal representatives and beneficiaries; coordinate with financial advisors, tax professionals, and care managers.
• Maintain deadlines and handle e-filings via the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal; coordinate with litigation attorneys as needed.
• Meet minimum annual hours targets (1,600 billable; 200 non-billable; 1,800 total) and manage retainer agreements.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Transactional Attorney with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Estate Planning, Probate, Trust, and Guardianship Administration to join their growing team. The ideal candidate can independently manage a caseload from inception through final resolution, communicate effectively with clients, third parties, and collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $115,000 - $150,000 per year
• 160 hours PTO after probationary

What You'll Do:

• Case Management & Strategy: Independently manage a diverse caseload of Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, and Guardianship matters from initial consultation through final resolution. Meet with clients to assess goals and design tailored estate planning, asset protection, and Medicaid/Special Needs strategies.
• Drafting & Filings: Draft, review, and revise wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds. Prepare and file petitions, inventories, accountings, and pleadings for probate, trust administration, and guardianships (including emergency temporary guardianships).
• Advising & Client Relations: Guide personal representatives, trustees, and guardians through their duties and annual reporting. Advise clients on public benefits planning and communicate proactively with beneficiaries, financial advisors, tax professionals, and care managers.
• Communication & Coordination: Maintain ownership of statutory and court deadlines, handling e-filings via the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal. Coordinate with the firm's litigation attorneys if litigation or appellate involvement becomes necessary.
• Firm & Practice Requirements: Meet the minimum annual requirement of 1,600 billable hours and 200 non-billable hours (1,800 total). Manage retainer agreements and balances, and participate in community involvement and networking to help grow the firm's practices and build an individual book of business.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents and handling probate/trust administration from opening through closing.
• Strong organizational, case-management, and analytical skills with sound professional judgment.
• Computer proficiency, keyboarding skills (minimum typing speed of 50 WPM with a high degree of accuracy), and proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Experience with legal tech preferred (firm uses Clio Manage, Clio Grow, NetDocuments, Adobe Acrobat/Kofax, and LexisNexis; training provided).
