Job summary

Symetra Investment Management (SIM) is seeking a Senior Associate for Alternative Assets to help source, model, evaluate, negotiate, execute and monitor alt-asset investments for our life-insurance clients. The role emphasizes risk/return balance, tax efficiency, and tailoring strategies to each client portfolio.

This hybrid role is based in Farmington, CT with mandatory in-office days. You will coordinate due diligence with SIM and Symetra Life, work with legal, accounting and compliance teams,

Qualifications

• BS degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, or related field with quantitative skills.
• 5+ years of front office experience in a bank, insurance company, pension fund, or asset management.
• Experience in alternative asset management is required.
• Understanding of insurance company frameworks and exposure to alternatives helpful.
• Ability to manage deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and implement alternative asset opportunities with focus on risk/return and tax efficiency.
• Conduct manager due diligence and coordinate with SIM teams.
• Maintain ongoing reporting and surveillance of investments and external managers.
