Job summary

RK Management Consultants, Inc. in downtown Chicago seeks a Senior Associate Accounting for a hybrid role.

You will support the general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal and external audit requests within a fast-paced, real estate finance environment, with visibility and opportunities to grow. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting a plus), a Bachelor’s in Accounting, excellent Excel skills, strong analytical ability, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
• 3 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (required).
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Hybrid schedule: three days per week in the Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Month End Close Support
• Assist in preparing journal entries, accruals, and other month-end accounting transactions
• Perform account reconciliations and help ensure balance sheet accounts are fully supported
• Support the monthly financial close process under the guidance of the Accounting Manager
• Help prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audit requests
• Account Analysis & Financial Accuracy
• Assist in analyzing general ledger activity and flagging discrepancies or unusual fluctuations
• Help maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities within the organization
• Support compliance with internal accounting policies and GAAP
• Growth & Cross Functional Support
• Look for opportunities to improve day-to-day accounting processes
• Partner with teammates across Finance to resolve accounting questions
• Assist with special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned

What You'll Do
