Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex issues clearly.

Our client, a prominent, successful, privately held real estate owner, development and management company with retail and multi-family properties in the Metro DC area and Southern California seeks a hands-on, high potential strategic financial professional to report to the President. This well-run company has high-quality, Class A assets in urban-infill, attractive locations with a long-term ownership mindset. Currently, the company has an impressive $2+ billion portfolio split evenly between retail and residential properties. It is an entrepreneurial, highly collaborative team with a positive, flexible culture working in a hybrid office work environment. The senior management team is hands-on, experienced, and knowledgeable with a strong track record of success. They have positioned the company for continued growth and positive cash flow through a thoughtful/conservative approach towards expansion through strategic acquisitions as well as improving the value of their current portfolio and selective development. The company is Metro accessible, located in downtown Bethesda.

Position:

Reporting to the President, this newly created, high-trust role will work closely with the leadership team to drive the execution of strategic initiatives and special projects. This role needs someone who is naturally curious about the business, brings an innovative and solutions-oriented mindset, and is eager to partner with the leadership team to drive meaningful change and continuous improvement. This role will help define the company's near and long term goals and translate them into specific measurable objectives across all areas of the business. This position will have visibility to all areas of the organization, including interaction with the Owner, President, General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer, all who are strong mentors / leaders. This individual will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a highly successful and well-regarded organization.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. MBA preferred. Prior experience in or strong interest in commercial real estate.
  • Minimum 5 years in an analytical role in management consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, finance or commercial real estate
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in using technology to drive change.
  • Experience in working with data and analytics to support a recommendation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues to both financial and nonfinancial team members in a simple, concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Manage multiple priorities.
