Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is engaged in a search for a Senior Associate for a growing real estate and financial services company. Excellent role for career growth, challenge and overall stability.

Overview

Manage and demonstrate authoritative knowledge on assigned accounts, including in-depth knowledge of critical deal components, in support of acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio management, treasury, accounting, and legal activities. Develop relationships with appropriate individuals within tenant organizations, visit and understand property and market conditions of assigned accounts, and effectively underwrite and communicate complicated tenant requests to management and Investment Committee. Mentor and support the development of other associates. This position reports to a Portfolio Manager.

  • The ideal candidate would have commercial real estate/loan underwriting experience, including real estate due diligence and legal document familiarity (leases, subleases, purchase agreements, settlement statements, etc).
  • The ideal candidate would also have a financial background with experience analyzing credit and financial statements in an underwriting or reporting capacity. Former accountants or those looking to leave accounting for a finance role could work well.
  • We are looking for someone who has experience in and desires to stay and grow in the commercial real estate industry in the DC Metro area.
  • In addition to managing a handful of client accounts, we look to our Senior Associates to help train and develop the team, assist with recruiting interns and full-time candidates, manage interns, and lead departmental and corporate initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant business field.
  • Work experience: A minimum of four years of commercial credit, accounting, finance, asset management or real estate experience required.
  • Technical competencies: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, oral and written communication skills.
