Top Stack is seeking a Senior Associate to join a growing Accounting Advisory practice in Charlotte, NC. If you’ve built a strong foundation in public accounting but don’t want to spend your career in audit, advisory offers another path and a chance to become a more versatile business advisor.

You’ll partner directly with client accounting and finance teams on project-based engagements, support month-end and year-end close, and contribute to financial reporting, reconciliations, and statement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience required.
• Experience with financial statements, financial reporting, audit, and/or month-end close.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• CPA or progress toward CPA licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client accounting and finance teams on project-based engagements.
• Support month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Gain hands-on exposure to FP&A projects including budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and management reporting.
• Support M&A and transaction-related engagements including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close initiatives.
• Participate in finance transformation projects to improve accounting operations, reporting, and processes.
• Work with clients on strategic finance initiatives beyond traditional accounting.
• Strengthen accounting processes, documentation, and finance operations.
• Analyze financial information and communicate findings to client stakeholders.
• Take ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables.
• Build strong client relationships across industries.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with client accounting and finance teams on project-based engagements
• Support month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Gain hands-on exposure to FP&A projects, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, management reporting, and variance analysis
• Support M&A and transaction-related engagements, including acquisitions, integrations, due diligence support, purchase accounting, and post-close initiatives
• Participate in finance transformation projects focused on improving accounting operations, reporting, processes, systems, and overall finance-function effectiveness
• Work alongside clients on strategic finance and operational initiatives that extend beyond traditional accounting responsibilities
• Help clients strengthen accounting processes, documentation, and finance operations
• Analyze financial information and communicate findings to client stakeholders
• Take ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables
• Build strong relationships with clients while working across different industries and business environments

Requirements:
