The Office of Statewide Prosecution in Florida seeks a highly experienced Assistant Statewide Prosecutor/Senior Attorney. You will prosecute major criminal cases, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with law enforcement agencies on investigations and trial preparation.

Responsibilities include charging decisions, discovery management, and representing the State at trial and appellate proceedings. This role requires substantial courtroom experience and a strong commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• Membership in the Florida Bar and five (5) years of criminal trial experience.

Responsabilités

• Reviewing and evaluating evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submitting all necessary data and recommendations to the Chief Assistant for intake decisions to accept or reject cases for prosecution.
• Advising and assisting the investigating agency in investigations and preparation of cases for prosecution, including review of warrants and orders, statements, and expert consultations.
• Making charging decisions based on relevant factors in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.
• Coordinating with other divisions and agencies for civil or administrative remedies when appropriate.
• Preparing and filing charging instruments and coordinating surrender or arrest of defendants when needed.
• Representing the State at bond hearings, pre-trial motions, calendar calls, and at trial.
• Representing the State at post-trial hearings and sentencing proceedings, and assisting with appellate matters.
