Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Principle Assistant Resident Engineer for our California offices, with location options in San Bernardino, Inland Empire, Orange County, and Los Angeles County. You will provide technical leadership on construction management projects and support the Resident Engineer in contract administration and inspection activities.

Ideal candidates have a California P.E., a strong background in public contracts and transportation projects, and a proven safety record.

Qualifications

BSCE or related degree required.
Current California PE license required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience, 5 as lead worker.
Valid CA driver’s license.
Experience working with railroads.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with health, safety and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

Understand public construction contracts for state highway systems and local agencies.
Respond to field construction issues and resolve them effectively.
Coordinate meetings between contractor, owner, utilities and other project parties.
Inspect and document field tests of construction materials.
Analyze costs of changed conditions and draft change orders.
