Job summary

The Isabella County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to advocate in court, conduct legal research and writing, and pursue justice for victims of criminal activity. This full-time role offers opportunities to handle cases with independence and to learn from experienced trial attorneys.

The selected candidate will review warrants, determine charges, prosecute felony and misdemeanor cases, negotiate pleas, and advise law enforcement.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum prosecution or criminal defense experience.
• Graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Michigan.
• Member in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Review warrants, charge decisions, and prosecute felony and misdemeanor cases.
• Negotiate plea agreements and prepare legal motions.
• Advise law enforcement on legal issues and prepare witnesses for trial.
