Qualifications

• Master’s degree in information and/or library science from an ALA-accredited school (or equivalent)
• Experience providing reference assistance (virtual, in-person, or research consultations)
• Teaching information literacy library instruction or writing-intensive courses
• Ability to apply culturally responsive pedagogy to achieve equitable outcomes for all students
• Strong written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to research and professional development leading to tenure

Responsibilities

• Provide general and discipline-specific library and information literacy instructional services
• Develop discipline-specific online guides or digital learning objects for student research
• Provide reference assistance and research consultations in person and virtually
• Conduct outreach to faculty and student organizations
• Participate in collection development for the Department of English
• Support faculty research and scholarship and serve on library initiatives or committees
