C4 Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our Accounting & Finance team in Watertown, MA. You will own the close process, internal controls, and complex areas such as collaboration revenue and equity compensation as the company scales toward Phase 3 and commercial readiness.

This role demands a CPA with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and a passion for mentoring a growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA License; 8+ years in public and life sciences accounting.
• Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX 404, and public company reporting.
• Proven coaching and team development track record.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Own collaboration revenue accounting under ASC 606.
• Oversee equity compensation accounting and ASC 718.
• SOX internal control design, testing, and remediation.
• Lead clinical trial accruals with Clinical Ops and CROs.
• Mentor accounting staff and build a growing team.
• Partner on financial reporting, forecasting, and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Support system implementations and automation initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare schedules.
