CHAI in Baltimore seeks a Senior Asset Manager to provide owner-level oversight of its affordable housing portfolio and focus on financial analysis, long-range planning, and risk management. You will work with management partners, lenders, and agencies to ensure financial health and preservation.

The role emphasizes strategic performance, compliance, and collaboration to drive long-term success across properties and capital initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressively responsible experience in affordable housing asset management or related fields.
• Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, PRAC, HOME or similar programs.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow review, and capital planning.
• Experience with third-party property management, lenders, and regulators.
• Ability to analyze information and translate into portfolio guidance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor financial, operational, compliance, and physical performance of CHAI's portfolio.
• Review financial statements, budgets, occupancy trends, and delinquency reports to identify risks and opportunities.
• Oversee third-party property management performance and set expectations.
• Lead asset management meetings and track progress on issues and actions.
• Support capital planning, reserve management, refinancing, recapitalization, rehab, and preservation.
• Coordinate reporting to lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct property visits and collaborate with partners to support portfolio performance.
