Job summary

CHAI seeks a Senior Asset Manager to provide owner-level oversight of its affordable housing portfolio, analyzing financial, operational, compliance, capital, and physical performance. The role collaborates with Housing Development, Finance, and Resident Services to preserve portfolio value.

The position requires leadership in coordinating with third-party managers, overseeing audits, and driving data-driven decisions to support long-term portfolio sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in affordable housing asset management or related real estate roles.
• Experience with HUD, LIHTC, PRAC, HOME or similar programs.
• Strong financial analysis across statements, budgets, cash flow and capital planning.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis.
• Experience coordinating with property management, lenders, investors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly financial statements, occupancy, delinquencies, budgets, and compliance.
• Evaluate third-party property management performance against standards and contracts.
• Lead asset management meetings and monitor action items.
• Develop dashboards and performance tracking tools.
• Review operating and capital budgets and compare to owner goals.
• Conduct site visits and monitor physical condition and management plans.
