Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the structures, formulae, and assumptions necessary for planning multibillion-dollar school construction projects.
  • Manages and oversees planning and master planning architects and in-house staff; works with Board staff to translate policy into actionable instructions.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Environmental, Health and Safety (OEHS) for CEQA and other environmental clearances.
  • Protects the long-term asset values and uses of district real estate and other assets.
  • Formulates strategies to increase the flexible use of district assets.
  • Regulates resources and energy toward high-priority, high-risk, high-benefit projects for the District.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from a recognized college or university.
  • Additional coursework in business administration, public relations, accounting, school finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, and communication is preferred.
  • Twenty (20) years of full-time paid professional experience in planning and development of public agencies or educational/institutional facilities.
  • Five years of experience overseeing complex survey activities of educational properties for physical attributes and future use planning.
  • Five years of experience developing recommendations for fund allocation to enable future projects.
  • Five years of experience prioritizing and phasing projects supporting educational master plans.
  • Valid Architect registration in California or Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Construction Manager (CCM) credential and LEED Professional Accreditation preferred.

The offered salary range is $165,000-$182,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
