Job summary

Dematic is hiring a Solution Design Controls Engineer in Salt Lake City to estimate complete controls solutions for customers, with a focus on ASRS and Storage and Retrieval Machines and their on-board and off-board control systems. You’ll read schematics, specify materials, and propose ideas for productivity and cost reduction.

The role requires 8+ years in controls engineering for material handling, experience with Rockwell RSLogix and Siemens PLCs/drives, and willingness to travel up to 20%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 8+ years of controls engineering and material handling experience.
• Experience designing and commissioning automated material handling systems.
• Proficient in Rockwell Automation PLC programming with RSLogix.
• Proficient with Siemens PLCs and drives.
• Experience with AC/DC drive systems and industrial networking.
• Material Handling Equipment experience focusing on SRMs and pallet conveying.
• Ability to interpret and design controls for Dematic equipment such as SRMs and Multishuttle.

Responsibilities

• Design and estimate complete controls solutions for customers.
• Read schematics and PLC programs and follow up on technical details.
• Provide ideas for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in providing estimates for semi-complex projects.
• Transfer knowledge and provide training to staff.
• Travel up to 20% to customer sites and Dematic locations.
